MARCH 1, 2007: HONG KONG WRITERS’ CIRCLE PUBLISHES NEW COLLECTION OF STORIES – HONG KONG WHODUNNITS.
As the Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2007 approaches, the Hong Kong Writers’ Circle is pleased to announce the publication of its latest collection of short stories, Hong Kong Whodunnits.
Taking the theme of ‘one city, twelve murders’, this brilliant new anthology comprises 12 blood-curdling murders from some of Hong Kong’s most exciting fiction writers. The stories share the common backdrop of Hong Kong, every tale uniquely presents the sexual jealousy, greed, revenge or fear of a secret revealed that drives the perpetrators to commit their heinous crimes. Straddling the social strata from the lowly minions who clean and cook in the city to the privileged lives of the spoilt rich and famous, this collection narrates the murderous intent that lies just below the surface of us all.
The featured authors include some of Hong Kong’s finest fiction writers such as John Biggs, Mio Debnam, Michael Gibb, Lawrence Gray, Ian Greenfield, Peter Gregoire, Tammy Ho, Diana McPartlin, Shobha Nihalani, Jane Wallace and Jeff Zroback.
“Like any good whodunnit, this anthology keeps you guessing from start to finish. The contributors’ voices take you on a series of journey through Hong Kong’s dark side – from expat excess to triad territory. Each murder story reveals the telltale cultural fingerprints unique to this city.’
Kate Whitehead, author of Hong Kong Murders.
Hong Kong Whodunnits is priced at HK$99 and is available from Dymocks and from sales@hkwriterscircle.com.
