The Hong Kong Writers Circle conducts writing workshops throughout the year to enhance the skills of budding writers and to provide a platform for experienced ones to share their secrets. These are available to both members and non-members, with members receiving a discount on the ticket price. They are usually conducted by member volunteers but guest-speakers have also been called upon for their expertise. These workshops focus on a specific topic e.g.: writing memoir or being a good critic, and often involve a range of exercises and activities that any writer at any level can participate in and benefit from. These guided exercises assist with honing a particular skill or serve to expose people to different writing methods that they may or may not have tried before. Light refreshments and some nibbles are usually available for participants and these events also double up as a great way to meet fellow writers!

Information for HKWC Members
The HKWC newsletter and Facebook page advertise information about upcoming workshops. To get involved, you have to be willing to volunteer a two-hour chunk of time and have a clear idea of the workshop you wish to present. Send a proposal (to hello@hkwriterscircle.com), including the topic, proposed dates for the workshop. The organising committee will then approve the workshop or work with you to bring it in line with the HKWC's aims and objectives.
